How can you sum up the life of your mother in a simple paragraph or two? Do you talk about the qualities that made her who she was? Passionate, independent, self reliant, generous to a fault, someone who gave so much and asked for so little. The very same traits she instilled in us, her children, making us the men and women we are today. Or do you talk work ethics or the very many hats she wore over her 77 years. Homemaker, PTA president, CCD teacher, administrative assistant, sodality members, church pantry lead, ministry of consolation. Or do you talk about the things she loved. Board games, trivia shows, puzzles, spending time with her family, playing cards at the senior center, telling you in detail about shows you never planned on watching. Or you talk about how through the devastating loss of her son and her husband she carried her family with the strength and faith no one person should have been expected to bear. And did it with the grace and class that could only have been Peggy Motherway.
