Annemarie McInerney Scully passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 25th, 2022. Her light, positivity, and ever-present smile brought joy to all those who knew her, and her kindness, generosity, and gentle nature touched countless lives in so many meaningful ways. As a mother to her three wonderful children – Billy, Brendan, and Caroline - Annemarie was amazing. As a wife to Bill, she was devoted, and an equal partner in a marriage that was filled with a love that everyone could see. As a daughter to Nancy and Richard, she was patient, thankful, considerate, and kind. As a sister to Patty, John, and Lizzy, there was no better foursome of friends – always there for one another and always laughing together. As a daughter-in-law to Virginia and Bill, she was thoughtful and dedicated, cherishing the time they spent together. As a sister-in-law, an aunt, a colleague, and as a friend, she was the brightest light whose answer to any request was, “Of course.” Throughout her career as a teacher, she was an inspiration to her pupils, attentive to their needs, and she shared her passion for learning with everyone in her classroom. She loved skiing and making pancakes and espousing her views over a glass of wine. She loved singing with her gorgeous voice and smiling in photographs and being the best person she could be. She succeeded at all of those things - magnificently. Though she is no longer with us, we can honor her by loving friends and family members with a passion equal to hers – and have her legacy be that by touching us all, she has made our lives - and our world - better.
