Donald S. Rainis, devoted husband of Ann for 61 years; father of Matt, Joe, Peter, Margaret & John; father-in-law to Rosanne, Eileen, Lorrie, John Remsen & Deborah; grandfather of 16 and great-grandfather of 4. Don was a career educator with the New York City Schools, but his real loves were his wife, Ann, and the family they built together. They cherished summers with their extended family on the North Fork. A truly gentle man, who always had an encouraging or kind word to quietly share with friends and relatives, Don had a calming influence on all who knew him. Although he never played the game, he loved watching, studying and strategizing about the game of lacrosse, particularly Lynbrook lacrosse. A wonderful and sincere man, Don was loved by all who knew him.
