Obituary of NOUCHAND SOMAIAH

Nouchand Somaiah was a loving husband and father. He passed away at the age of 63 on February 28, 2021 in Valley Stream, NY.

Nouchand, also known as Prem, was born on February 13, 1958 in Guyana to Somaroo and Poonarbasie Somaiah. He married Merna on April 21, 1983 and they had one son, Michael.

Nouchand’s friendly personality and desire to help others made it easy for him to connect with anyone he met. His leisure was filled with gardening, dancing and playing dominoes. He was known for his funny wit as well as his kind and compassionate spirit.

Nouchand is survived by his wife Merna, his son Michael and his daughter-in-law Nadia. He will be remembered by all as a loving husband, father and friend with a generous heart and natural ability to make friends wherever life took him.

Services will be held at The Moore Funeral Home in Valley Stream, NY. The visitation will be on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm followed by the funeral on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 9:30 am.
