We will miss Grandma Dorothy! She was an incredibly strong woman whose independence and fun-loving spirit I always admired.

"Mom C", my mother-in-law, was a unique and strong person. She always made the best of situations and modeled perseverance. She wasn't afraid to speak plainly. She showed her love by her actions, as well as her words. There was joy in her face when she watched her family members around her and when she viewed photos and videos of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I will miss the twinkle in her eye during the laughs we shared over the years. Comfort will be found in happy memories of seeing her reading a book in the sun, playing "solo Scrabble" when no opponent was around, ironing dozens of my quilt pieces, preparing delicious and plentiful meals despite limited kitchen space, and enjoying all family gatherings. During one of our last shared conversations, she told me that we just need to live every day that God gives us, which I believe really summed-up her view of life and gave me yet another reason to give her a hug.

She was my mother and my best friend. We shared so many wonderful moments together and I am grateful for them. So now the time has come to take solace in memories and keep her close in my heart.
