Obituary of Maria Cristina Linares

Maria Cristina Linares, 92, passed away on February 27, 2025, in Rockville Centre, New York.  

Born on December 14, 1932, in Guatemala,  Maria Cristina Linares, a vibrant and vivacious soul whose presence lit up every room she entered. A dedicated and tenacious mother, she poured her heart into her family, always going above and beyond to ensure they were loved, cared for, and supported. Her unwavering determination and steadfast nature were the foundation of everything she did, whether in her role as a devoted mother or as a hardworking businesswoman.

Her love knew no bounds, and her generosity extended to everyone she encountered. She balanced her professional life with grace, always showing her family the importance of resilience, strength, and the power of hard work. Maria Cristina  will always be remembered for her caring spirit, her unwavering commitment to her loved ones, and her ability to brighten the darkest days with her infectious energy.

Maria Cristina was a woman of many talents and passions. She found joy in cooking, creating meals that brought her loved ones together. Gardening was another of her cherished pastimes. She nurtured plants with the same care and devotion she showed to her family. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone through in her work as a businesswoman, where she demonstrated perseverance and strength.  

Her faith was an integral part of her life. A devout Catholic, Her belief provided her with guidance and comfort throughout her years.  

Maria Cristina leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children Rebecca, Mayra, Anabella, Sandra, and Carlos; her grandchildren Edwin, Byron, Claudia, Lorna, Danilo, Lester, Victoria, Marco Polo, Carlos Rodrigo, Maria Irene, Rosey, Carlos, and Sophia; and her great-grandchildren Byron, Susy, Edwin, Becky, Ernesto, Nataly, Vinny, Lester Jr., Gabriel, Daniel, Rai, Emma, Polo, Marcella, Valentina, Marco, Antonella, Jade, Luna, and Khai.  

A wake will be held on March 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PMat Perry Funeral Home in Lynbrook (118 Union Ave., Lynbrook NY 11563). Maria Cristina’s final resting place will be in Guatemala.  

Though she is no longer with us, the legacy of her love, her strength, and her unwavering devotion will continue to live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know her. She truly was a one-of-a-kind woman, and her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
