Jacqueline Pelter (nee Viviano), 89, a longtime resident of Franklin Square and Richmond Hill, N.Y. passed away on May 16, 2025.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Giacomo & Francis Viviano, she graduated from Maxwell High School.

Married in Brooklyn in 1957, she was the beloved wife of Samuel Pelter for 67 years. 

Mrs. Pelter worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and in the culinary field for many years for the New York City school system.

She was a devoted mother, proud grandmother and great grandmother. Jackie is lovingly remembered by her daughter JoAnn Healey and her husband Ronald, sons Phillip and his wife Reselen, Samuel and his wife Susan, and James and his wife Cristina. She was predeceased by her son Jack.

She was the cherished grandmother of Ryan and Isabella Healey, Christina, Brian, Jonathon, Joseph, Brandon and Emily Pelter, Maura and Lance. Great grandmother of Maverick, Madisyn, Sophia and Isabella.

She is also survived by her sisters Paula DiBernardo, Christina Cassano, Virginia Pizzo and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Vincent and Carl Viviano.

Jackie had a zest for life and a generous heart. She found great joy in her family and loved to cook.
