BISHOP , John E ,On 1/16/14 of a brain tumor. Loving partner of Cesar Gil. Devoted father of John, David and William and husband of Melanie. Cherished brother of Bob (May) and Uncle of Emily and Andrew. Admired and loved by a wide circle of friends. He gained the respect and admiration of colleagues and students alike during his many years as a teacher in East Rockaway High School ,a job and a town he loved. John was a talented artist and you may enjoy johnbishopartsite.com . Wake at Perry Funeral Home ,118 Union Ave Lynbrook , NY ,11563 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 on Sunday and Monday . The service will be a sharing of memories at Perry's 7:30 PM Monday.No religious service. Lieu of flowers please consider donation to Sloan Kettering Hospital or Alzheimer's Foundation. =
