Obituary of Maria Das Gracas Dos Santos Belle

Maria Das Gracas Dos Santos Belle Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Mentor, Friend Maria Belle, age 64, passed away on April 15, 2014 with her daughters, Sebastiana, Gloria, and Jessica by her side. Maria was born to the late Nelson and Gloria Santos on November 30th, 1949, in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Maria married her late husband, Ed Belle, March 20th, 1975 and was married until his passing on April 3rd, 1995. She never remarried. Maria's accomplishments were numerous: Queen of Carnival, Miss Brasil, model, actress, director, writer, inventor, producer, spiritual teacher, author, mother, best friend, and wife. Maria was a gift to everyone she met. So much so in fact, one of her daughters, Sebastiana, bought Maria a star one Mother's Day, and named it "Maria Belle- God's Gift," as a representation of what a gift Maria Belle truly was. There was always a light, an energy radiating from Maria that was sure to brighten anyone's day. It is hard to pin-point whether it was her beautiful smile, light touch, knowing eyes, generosity, infectious laughter, nurturing hug, willingness to be silly, or the combination of these attributes that made everyone fall in love with her wherever she went. But, one thing is certain, the world has lost a remarkable human being, and her children have lost the most amazing mother, the most wonderful friend, teacher, partner in crime, and the most beautiful soul they have ever known. Maria is survived by five children, three grandchildren, two dogs, and will be missed dearly.
