I had only reconnected with Jack in 2013 after over 30 years since we'd played together in Harry's band. In 2013 when we got together for hours one afternoon at Mary M's, it was as if no time had gone by since 1983. I had simply forgotten how much fun it was to be around Jack, and how I should have been enjoying his company over the last 30 years. People may throw around the term "great guy" too easily, but Jack truly was a great guy... fun, generous, interested, caring. Great sense of humor. And a great musician. I'm glad I got to play with him again later that year. He was a terrific drummer, and always made me sound better. And now he's gone and I just can't believe it. Well Heaven will definitely be a livelier place now, that's for sure.
