Leonia M. Mele, 87, Uniondale Pa., died Wednesday. Her loving husband was the late Ralph Mele.
Born in East Brooklyn NY, daughter of the late Bernard and Henrietta Phillips, she was one of 20 siblings. Leonia was a loving mother, daughter, sister and grandmother and a fun-loving person, who enjoyed spending time with her family. For many years, she was a member of St. Thomas Parish in Malverne NY.
Surviving are: one son, Daniel Mele and wife Josephine, Fla.; two daughters, Karen Buccino and husband, William, Long Island NY; Ginny Tammero and husband Michael, Uniondale Pa.; grandchildren, Justin and wife, Daniella; Sean, Ryan, Michael, Danielle, Natalie, Michael, Taylor-Rae and Gianna; great grandchildren, Julia and Danny. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Marie Dooley.
Visitation will be held on Sunday at Perry Funeral Home Inc., 118 Union Avenue Lynbrook NY from 9 am till 12 noon.
