Drake - R. Russell of Lynbrook, NY passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 29, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Anna. Loving father of Deborah and Lori. Cherished brother of Fern, Doris, and Doreen. Dear granddad of Andrea, Danny and Alex. Also survived by many caring nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors and his "brother" Yaw Appiah. Judy and family are in our thoughts. Russ was born in Toronto, Canada, the son of the late Adam and Edith Drake and served in the Canadian Armed Forces. Russ became a U.S. citizen in 1957 and was a Planner/Controller Lead, Production Control at AIL for over 25 years. He enjoyed Florida and loved the holidays, music, bagpipes, trains, watching airplanes, butter tarts, and could fix anything. His amazing wit, sense of humor and personality will be remembered with endless love. Family will receive friends Thursday 2 PM - 4 PM and 7 PM - 9 PM at the Perry Funeral Home Inc., 118 Union Avenue, Lynbrook, NY. A prayer to be held at the Funeral Home Friday 10 AM. Interment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
