James G Ruane of Brooklyn NY, passed away January 22, 2024. A retired NYC Police Officer and Vietnam Veteran. Beloved father of Michael, JoanMarie, Steven, Nicholas and the late David. Member of MSG Woods Council #5995 Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6478, NYCPD Holy Name Society and American Legion Post 1771. Jimmy was a family man, always willing (and hoping) to help you out. Whether a cousin, an ex partner, a neighbor, a nurse or even a stranger. Admired and loved by many, he was loyal and someone you could always count on to be there. A man of faith, a dutiful cop, an allegiant patriot, a devoted brother, a steadfast father, a patient grandfather, a detailed storyteller, a persistent traveler, and an unwavering friend to many. Rest in peace.
