We are so saddened by the loss of your brother and our friend Steve. He has been part of our lives for many years and through his friendship with Mike, your parents welcomed us so often into their home for wonderful visits and dinners - how your Mom could cook - always fussing over your beloved father - and Steve too.
Steve and Mike were friends since high school, him standing with Mike at our wedding in 1983 and Mike returning the support when Steve and Mary wed in 1997.
In our earlier years we would visit Heckscher Park to see the deer and grounds. Or we would go to the arboretum when the rhododendrons were in bloom. Steve came upstate a few times to visit us as well. I love a picture we have of our cat on his lap - the story behind it is the cat would hiss every time Steve moved until she had finished her nap. He was so kind-hearted (or terrorized) that he wouldn't just shoo her off.
We happened to come down just a few weeks ago and had dinner with Steve and a visit with Mary. Mike spent another evening catching up with Steve - just the two guys. Reminiscing about times gone by and craziness of the past is a gift only life-long friends can give to one another. Steve will be forever remembered.
