Obituary of Christina Elizabeth Becker

Christina Elizabeth Becker is the oldest of the 12 Becker children of the late Francis X. and Elizabeth Betsy Becker. A loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, sisterin-law and friend, she will always be in the hearts of those who know her for her compassion, gentleness, kindness, and loyalty. And her cats know and feel just the same.

Blessed with many talents and wisdom, she devoted her every work to glorifying the Holy Trinity and the Blessed Mother, Mary the Mother of God. As a bookkeeper, thoroughbred horse trainer and manager, veterinarian assistant and artist, she performed every task with a diligence, zeal and love. Essential to her faith and spirituality was serving as a lector at Our Lady Lourdes RC in Malverne. She was a lifelong learner, earning associates degrees in computer science and programming, and then matriculating at Hofstra University to continue her studies in computer science.

While nurturing and sharing her talents, she devoted hours and days, weeks and weekends at a time, 24 hours a day caring for her father, the Honorable Francis X. Becker, as he became ill with Dementia. This included taking him to the movies and out to dinner, cooking and feeding him, spending hours at a time by his side to keep him company and be by his side as the illness overtook him.

She was devoted to and lived the "Serenity Prayer" and it was a life source for her. And many were inspired by her everyday living of it.
