Wow I’m shocked I went to cobleskill and Kris Was a fellow ZAP frat member. He was full of life and loved being in his chosen culinary field . Michelle I remember you too and am sorry to hear this Kris was a enthusiastic and passionate guy with cooking the frat being a friend and yesss he used to like a beer His photo you posted is great prayers to you and yours. Many Many Many lasting good times and memories I’ve enjoyed with Chris.
Tough on the outside, softie inside. Always in charge. Dedicated and true to life family and friends. I hold his time honored impressions on me close to my heart. Mixed feelings of sadness and gratitude. Glad I had the opportunity to reconnect with him at the shows.

I had the pleasure of knowing Chef Neary while I lived and worked in New York. He always had a smile on his face and a good word to say. Whenever I saw him he was positive and upbeat. He was extremely dedicated to our profession always supporting members especially juniors in increasing their skills and opportunities. I recall several times taking the trip down state to judge an ACF sanctioned competition on Long Island while he was chapter president. He was super supportive of all the competitors, judges and the guests that came to watch the competition. Not all chapter presidents are like that. Many just breeze in to be, seen, and leave. Not Chef Chris. He was genuinely interested in seeing everyone involved be successful. He cared a great deal. And it was evident in all he did.
We sincerely thank the Neary family for sharing Chef Chris with the ACF and the entire profession. He had an immense impact on all of us who were fortunate enough to know him.

Words cannot express my sadness. With deepest sympathy on your loss of Chef Neary, a father, a grandfather, a husband, an uncle, a dear friend and an extraordinary chef. May the comfort of God help you and your family through this difficult time. Someone as special as Chef Chris Neary will never be forgotten. Chef Neary will be greatly missed but his warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will be remembered forever. Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.
After the tears have dried and the goodbyes have been said, all we have to hold onto are the happy memories that we’ve shared with our loved ones who have passed, this is what keeps them alive in our hearts and in our minds, and they will continue to live on, through us.

Vin and I are sorry that we have lost such an awesome friend. Chips was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and Chef extraordinaire. He helped to keep the Brothers and Sisters who pledged ZAP & ALP in 1973 -75 together as a family because he understood connections and their impact in our lives. I will miss you my dearest friend. Loved by so, so many who have had the pleasurable honor to have worked side-by-side with a chef so brilliantly skilled with a depth of knowledge few acquire in their career.
