Laura's passing is a tremendous loss, she was way too young, and my heart goes out to Tommy and your beautiful children. Laura had this wonderful way with people, such sweetness, a terrific listener, a generous heart, incredible modesty, and a goofy sense of humor that always landed with me. She helped me through some tough times in HS. Although I haven't been in touch with Laura since college, the strength of all of these characteristics have made a very lasting impact in this world, at least for me.

Having known Laura since elementary school, it is so difficult to wrap my head around her passing. Always so friendly and always had a smile on her face.
A few months back I ran into Laura. Again she greeted me with a smile on her face and a warm hello. We started talking as if we had seen each other often. Asking about my family as I did hers. I never had any idea she was sick.
I am so sorry I never got to meet her children, but if they are a reflection of their mom, I am sure they are wonderful human beings. Tom was a very lucky man to be by her side.
Laura, earth as lost a wonderful soul, but heaven gained an even more beautiful angel. Rest in Peace and may God watch over your family.
You will be missed.

I was good friends with Laura all through high school and she was such a sweet soul. We had great times in biology and she was always there to root for her husband Tommy and our hockey team. Deepest sympathy and condolences go out to the Risorto and Stavola families. PS, I listed my name as Stephen rather than Steve because, unlike most everyone else, she always addressed me by my full name. It was very sweet actually, just like her.

I was lucky enough to work with Laura at East Rockaway High School for the past 6 years. She was a wonderful person with a huge heart. We would always chit chat about our kids and it was evident how proud she was of her own. I am a better person for knowing Laura and I am grateful that she was in my life as a co-worker and a friend. Rest in Peace my dear friend. I will miss you.

My sincere condolences to the family. Although I did not know Laura, her daughter Julianne is a co-worker. Laura can rest knowing that she raised a lovely young woman. May all the wonderful memories of Laura help in easing the sorrow of her friends and family.

When I close my eyes it seems like yesterday we were driving around windows open singing at the top of our lungs to Bruce Springsteeens Born to Run! Oh what fun we had !! Although time passed and life got busy.. when we did see one another our conversations went as if we spoke daily, just easy and always with smiles on our faces whether we were reminiscing about the past or speaking about our daily lives and of course family. The advice you gave to me when my Sofia first started West End always stuck with me. Your wisdom, your kindness and your soft manner are a real tribute
I still cannot believe such a young spirit has left this Earth but please know Laura you left your mark and two beautiful children who know they were loved fiercely by their Mother
May you be an Angel to us all and send us signs
I will love and miss you forever

My heart and thoughts of comfort go out to all of you. My head flooded with memories when I learned of this yesterday, of our childhood together through high school and at our wedding. Hers was an understated presence.. often smiling, always caring, so smart, so funny. And she had a great laugh. I loved her laugh. And she laughed often.
A beautiful person inside and out whom will be missed greatly but always loved by friends and family.

Tom, Julianne and Dan - I can’t tell you how sorry I was to hear that Laura passed away. Each of you and your extended family are in my thoughts and prayers. Laura loved her kids more than anything. I remember sitting with her on Friday nights talking about the good and bad the funny and sad experiences of our kids growing up. Laura’s thoughts and observations were always insightful and often very funny - she made me smile and laugh. I will miss her.
