Obituary of Judy Anne Montana

Judy Anne Montana, age 70, passed away peacefully on Friday August 23rd, 2019 at South Nassau Communities Hospital; she was surrounded by the warmth of her family. First and foremost, Judy treasured her role as a devoted single mother to her only daughter Kristen. She loved her unconditionally and cherished every moment they spent together. Judy was the daughter of the late Victor and Santa Montana. She was the sister of Elizabeth Redmond and Steven Montana, and she was a beloved family member and friend to many others. Judy was a passionate and dedicated teacher. After receiving her bachelor's degree from Queens College in 1970 and her master's degree from Hofstra University shortly thereafter, she was able to do what she loved for nearly 50 years. The smile on a young child's face brought her so much joy even in her last days. Judy enjoyed passing the time with reading; she could have finished three books a week if she wanted to. Her two favorite genre's were mystery/thriller and romance. If Judy's head wasn't buried in a book, she was out having fun with her friends. She cared greatly for the friendships she has made throughout the years. Visiting services will take place on Tuesday August 27th at Perry's Funeral Home in Lynbrook from 2p-4p and 7p-9p. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday August 28th at Our Lady of Peach Church on Fowler Ave. in Lynbrook at 9:45a.
