Obituary of John H. Johnson

JOHNSON-John Henry, age 68 of Lynbrook, NY passed peacefully on September 8, 2019.

Beloved husband of Tammy. Loving father of Peter, Thomas (Bernadette), Michael, Brian (Meagan). Cherished grandfather of Maggie Rose. Devoted brother of Dorothea Johnson Carr, sister-in-law Donna Johnson, and the late Joseph J.

John H. Johnson was born in Brooklyn, NY to his parents Dorothea and Robert Johnson. He attended Emerson High School in Brooklyn. John was a decorated United States Marine and proudly served his country in Vietnam from 1968-1970. He worked for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and retired as the Chief Transportation Officer in July of 2012. John was also active in his community serving as Commander of both the VFW of Lynbrook and the American Legion Post in East Rockaway. The family will receive friends at the Perry Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday September 12, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass Friday at St. Raymond's RC Church in East Rockaway at 9:45 AM. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery 3620 Tilden Avenue Brooklyn. Memorial contributions in John's name may be made to:
