Obituary of Sandra Julia Burtis

Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sandra Julia Garraputo Burtis of Oceanside, NY passed away on October 28, 2019. Sandra lived her life to the fullest, loving family first, relaxing at the beach, and enjoying great food. These cornerstones of her life and her powerful relationship with God helped her to remain strong of spirit through her battle with cancer. Sandra enjoyed many years working with special needs students in the Oceanside School District. Although we mourn the loss of Sandra, she knew she was going home to be with her heavenly Father, be re-united with her parents, Lena and Julian (Babe), brother Peter, and all those family and friends who have passed before her. Sandra was a loving mother to Cindy, son-in-law Barry, Wendy and son-in-law Robert. Devoted grandmother of Lindsey and her husband Nicholas, Abby and her husband Donald, and Blaire and her wife Arielle. Great grandmother to Andrew and Madsen. Loving sister to Linda and Carol.
