Obituary of Josefa De La Parte

Josefa de la Parte was born Josefa Paniagua to parents Angela and Manuel Paniagua in Havana, Cuba on November 3, 1928. As a young adult, she worked in law enforcement and she married Jose de la Parte in 1950. They had two children, Ysabel and Jose de la Parte who survive her. Jose and Josefa emigrated to the United States and settled in New York after escaping Castro's regime in 1962.
Josefa received her GED in 1976, and her nurses assistant certificate in 1978. She worked at Mercy Hospital, Mason Candies, Helena Rubenstein, Bulova Watches, and finally retired from Focus Electronics. Josefa was active in the church and became a Deaconess at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Hempstead, the town where called home. There she ministered to the local Hispanic community.
Known to her loved ones as Fefa, she was an avid cook and enjoyed summers at Sunken Meadow Beach with family. She was devoted to her family and to her pets. Josefa was predeceased by her husband Jose on July 7, 2015 and their beloved granddaughter Karla de la Parte on May 15th, 2010. She is survived by her daughter Ysabel de la Parte, her son Jose de la Parte and his wife Marie, her grandchildren Mark and Corry Yttoman, Nicole de la Parte, and the light of her late life, great grandson Malachi Tallman.
