Obituary of Ronald Toffolo

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We celebrate the life of Ronald Toffolo who died on March 23rd after a battle with Covid-19 at 93 years old. He has now joined his beloved wife of 69 years, Beatrice who passed on just six months ago. He is survived by his four children, Ronnie married to MariElyn, Bobby married to Annmarie, Kenny married to Doreen and Barbara Ann and her boyfriend John. He has nine grandchildren, Craig married to Michelle, Christopher married to Megan, Michael married to Sofie, Rob engaged to Kaitlyn, Karyn, Daniel, Laura, Tracy and Kyle and seven great-grandchildren, Juliana, Danielle, Liv, Linnéa, James, Lukas and Mia, with one more on the way. Ron was born on March 7, 1928 in Manhattan, NY to Altiero and Rina Toffolo, but he often said his life really began the day he met his wife Bea in 1944. She was the love of his life and anyone who ever saw them together knew the depth of his love and devotion. They met as teenagers, began courting during his active tour of duty as a medic in the US Navy and married on September 22, 1951. Ron worked as an upholsterer while going to school at night to study Interior Design and worked his way up through various companies, eventually starting his own successful Interior Design Business – Ron Toffolo Interiors. He served on the board of A.S.I.D (American Society of Interior Design) and spent a term as President, A.S.I.D.. He loved sports, especially football, baseball and bowling, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, but his greatest passion was fishing. Ron had a big sense of humor and would often stop strangers in supermarkets to tell them a joke or point out the gastrointestinal effects of broccoli rabe. But bigger than his sense of humor was his heart. Whether it was taking in his wife's invalid brother Tony, caring for Bea as she progressed through Alzheimer's or stepping up to whatever challenge he faced, he stayed steadfast and strong. It was men like him that gave "The Greatest Generation" its name. He was loved immensely and he will be deeply missed.
