Marie Concetta Troiano, aged 73, of Malverne, NY, passed away on Monday, April 26th, 2021 in Mineola, NY from natural causes. Marie was born in Manhattan, NY to Mary and Dominick Falcone on February 12, 1948. She graduated from Julia Richman High School in NYC. She met her husband, Vinny Troiano, her childhood sweetheart on the school bus as a teenager. After Vinny returned from Vietnam, they were married on September 7, 1968 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Bronx, NY. They resided in the Bronx before moving to Malverne, NY in 1976. Marie worked as a bookkeeper for a short time and had two sons, Vincent D. Troiano of Newton, NJ and Anthony Troiano, of North Bellmore, NY. Marie was exalted by her family for her incredible Italian cooking, specifically, her customized gourmet soups. She loved cooking so much that she would willingly make 3 different dinners for her husband and two sons. Creatively, she was an avid gardener and an expert at crocheting, making incredible blankets for her entire family She loved going Italian food shopping at Arthur Avenue in the Bronx and attending Yankee Games (her favorite team). Marie was a tireless cheerleader to her two sons at their baseball games and in life. She also wrote articles in the Malverne Times about the town baseball league that her husband coached. Besides babysitting full time for many years, she was also her husband’s business manager in his home improvement business. Marie loved her pets and made a conscious choice to adopt dogs from The North Shore animal league to better their lives. Marie is preceded in death by her mother, Mary, and her father, Dominick. Marie is survived by her husband, Vinny Troiano, her sons Vincent and his wife Suzanne, and Anthony Troiano and his wife Melissa, her sister Claire Gallo, her 4 grandchildren Vanessa, Ryan, Mia and Chase, her niece Melissa Draguca (who was the daughter she never had), and her nephews Nicholas Gallo and Dr. Michael Gallo, who was instrumental during her final weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances of Marie be made in the form of contributions to St. Jude's: Memorial donations and gifts - St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Winthrop University Hospital, Dr. Michael Gallo, and Cynthia, her favorite home health aide.
