Obituary of Rose Tedesco
Please share a memory of Rose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rose Tedesco, 91, died August 25, 2021, in Nassau County on Long Island, where she resided for the last 58 years.
Rose was born in 1930 in Brooklyn NY to Joseph and Mary Tedesco, where she spent the first 33 years of her life. Her father was a businessman and the president of Joseph Tedesco Fruit & Produce in Brooklyn NY, providing fresh produce to retail stores in the Tri-state area. In 1963, she moved with her family to East Rockaway, NY where she remained until her passing.
She was a member of St. Raymond’s Roman Catholic Church in East Rockaway. Her interests included animals (including her beloved dachshund, Rusty), sewing, health foods, Macrobiotic cooking, current events and family. She was a victorious cancer survivor, and a proud, staunch American, having lived through the Second World War with much of her family serving in the U.S. military during that war.
She devoted much of her time and energy to her immediate family with whom she lived for decades – sister Josephine, brother-in-law Charles Busch, father Joseph, and nephew Joseph Busch – and then as caregiver to her sister during her final year of life in 2013/2014.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Josephine Busch, and her two brothers, John and Anthony Tedesco. This was also true of her sister-in-law, Dorleen Tedesco of Virginia and her brother-in-law, Charles A. Busch.
Rose is survived by, and was loving aunt to: Joseph Tedesco (of NY), John Tedesco, Mary Tedesco, Joseph Tedesco (of Virginia), Anthony Tedesco, Ralph Tedesco, Steven Kent Tedesco and Joseph Busch. She was also survived by her sister-in-law, Angelina Tedesco.
