All my condolences to Grace and her family . She will be forever etched in my memories as a St Vincents student . The days of remembering how much she expected from us as students . I learned so much from her . She had every staff member at St Vincents and every Obstetrician respect her immensely . I remember how much she taught us . Honoured to have Grace as my L&D instructor at St Vincent’s school of Nursing. Her strength & perseverance meant she didn’t suffer fools lightly & made sure you knew what you were doing in the delivery room! I will have a mass said for her here in County Mayo Ireland. Rest peacefully Grace.

I remember her coming to get me off my unit at SVH as a new graduate to see a vaginal delivery. Arrived in time to see yet another cesarean. Ms Metcalf was intimidating, but I never forgot her attempt make sure I was well versed in L&D!
