Anthony Nigro, of Lynbrook, NY passed away on Tuesday,January 18, 2022 at the age of 88. He was born on February 27, 1933 in Accadia, Foggia Italy. He was the son of Pasquale and Ripalda Nigro, the brother of Lucia (Luigi) Salducco and Carmela (Vito) Pasquariello. Anthony immigrated to America in 1948. He settled in the Bronx, where he would later meet his beloved wife Angela. He was drafted and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a machinist for the United Nations for over 25 years. He moved with his family to Lynbrook in 1970. Anthony loved his “Home Sweet Home”, spending time with his family, listening to Italian opera, sharing stories of his life, and enjoying his “bicchieruccio” He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Angela, his daughters Ripalda Alba (Domenick), Maria (Joel-predeceased), and Nancy (Frank); his five grandchildren Salvatore (Alexandra), Michelle (Mario), Stephanie (Rocco), Christopher and Matthew; his great grandsons Domenick John, and David Anthony; his brother and sister in laws, and his many nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held on Friday, January 21st at 1:00 pm at Pinelawn Cemetery. A Memorial Service to honor Anthony will be held at a later date. We will all miss his witty opinions, sassy attitude and his values that earned everyone's respect.
