Humes, (Fred) Roger, on Feb 1, 2022 at 86 years young. Lifelong resident of East Rockaway whose family roots are embedded on Long Island with 2 great-grandfathers as keepers of the Fire Island Lighthouse- prompting a love of boating and all things sea-related. Beloved husband of the late Ann. Cherished father to Tammy(Ken), Kelly(Walter), Stacy(Fred) and Scott. Doting Grandpa to Danielle, Lauren, Alicia, Walter, Travis, Erica, Kimberly & Victoria. Proud Great Grandpa to Avery, Anna, Dean, Maddi & Pearl. Remembered fondly by many thoughtful relatives and friends. He and his Annie together along with blood, sweat and tears built a vacation home on Lake Contoocook in Rindge, New Hampshire where many happy summers and winters were spent with family & friends. He was a master woodworker; loved tinkering with projects, cookbook author, and avid armchair Jeopardy contestant & knowledgeable on many subjects-happily sharing with others. Roger also served his country proudly during the time of the Korean War. Through the years he was a - ERHS Bd of Ed member, Bay Park Fire District Commissioner, Dad’s Club member, Dept Head of Marketing for AT&T, Mentor to many and most of all a friend to all. He will be missed. His favorite charities are Ronald McDonald House and St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
