Obituary of Joseph Ninivaggi

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joseph Ninivaggi, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend, passed peacefully on February 2, 2022 at the age of 92. Joe was born to Frank and Lucrezia Ninivaggi, first-generation Italian immigrants in Ozone Park, NY. He was the youngest and the last surviving sibling of 7 children. Joe was a former Marine and served during the Korean War. He was a proud member of the Catholic War Veterans and an active parishioner of St. Mary Gate of Heaven parish. During the past 16 years he relocated to East Rockaway, NY where he volunteered as an usher at St. Raymond’s parish. Joe was a kind and patient man who loved to be with family, his favorite day being Father’s Day. He loved the sun shining on his face and would often be found sitting in a chair in front of the house or in the driveway basking in the sun’s rays. Joe is survived by his wife of 63 years Gloria, children Mary Ellen Prevete (Mike), Joseph Jr., John (Gayle), James (Evelyn), Michael (Penny), Thomas, Jean Marie Fernandez (Jose) and Lisa Federlein (Thomas), 13 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and many nephews and nieces.
