GEORGE PASTOR

Obituary of GEORGE J. PASTOR

Please share a memory of GEORGE to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

George J. Pastor was a true Long Islander with strong Cedarhurst roots and a treasured community in Valley Stream. He was a fixture in the oil industry across multiple states throughout his career.

He was a proud veteran, returning from Vietnam in 1969 and remaining dedicated to serving the veteran community for the rest of his life. With service as his guiding principle, he volunteered regularly, including as an active member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars, and serving for over 10 years on the New York State Nurse Board. He was also a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.

George’s lifelong passion for cars led him to his prized possession (or in some ways, his third child), a 1931 Ford Model A he lovingly restored and showcased in car shows. In his “free” time, he worked towards a Master’s Degree in Political Science, which he achieved this month.

His sense of humor was unparalleled.

George is survived by his loving wife, Susan, daughters Danielle and Michelle, and an impressive number of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.
