Obituary of ANITA BARBA
Anita Barba, age 91, passed away peacefully at her residence on May 30, 2020. She was born in December of 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, to parents Ray and Millie. She married her true love Rudolph Barba, who preceded her in death.
Anita lived a full life as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Traveling, cooking, bowling, Atlantic City and having a meal at Red Lobster were all a part of her favorite past times. She had a passion for helping others. Anita volunteered for many years at Mercy Hospital, where she served as President of the Freeport League. A strong, caring, selfless, independent woman, Anita deeply touched the lives of everyone she came across.
Above all, she loved her grandchildren and great grandchild immensely. There was nothing she wouldn’t do to put a smile on their face. Going to see Nanny, you were guaranteed to leave spoiled with a full stomach and most importantly, a full heart.
Anita is survived by her children, Richard and Jane Barba, Thomas Barba, Teresa and Frank Monforte Sr; grandchildren Frank and Kristen Monforte Jr, Thomas and Alicia Monforte, Nicholas and Danielle Monforte, Nicole Monforte; plus one great grandchild, Benjamin Monforte.
She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
