Dimitrious Matheos Born 15 August 1919 Dimitrious was born in (ANDROS, Greece) Dimitrious was called James or Jim by many and Pop by his Grand Children and Great Grand Children. Went into the United States Army in February of 1943 and was Separated in February of 1946 Served during the China Offensive as a Cook in the O.S.S. Receiver of many Decorations and Citations: Good Conduct Medal, China Memorial badge, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon to name just a few. Dimitrious had three brothers and a sister. James married Elizabeth Gianaca of South Ozone Park , Queens on 24 January 1945 in St Dimitrious Church in Jamaica, New York. In October of 1945, Elizabeth gave birth to her son, William Peter Matheos. James spent his entire life as a Chef working in several Restaurants and owning some as well. He enjoyed being with people and sharing precious moments with family and friends. He always had a smile on his face when he was around people. Was very active in St Dimitrious Church in Jamaica and then with St. Paul's Cathedral in Hempstead, New York when he moved to Lynbrook. He also did much cooking for the Boy Scouts of America and various other groups that called upon his services. Dimitrious is survived by his Wife Elizabeth, his son William, his two Grandchildren Lisa and Bill Jr. And his six Great Grand Children, Julia, Victoria, Luke, Isabella, Madison and Bradley. He will be missed by all, but we will always keep him in our thoughts and prayers.
