Obituary of Emma S. Buenaventura

Please share a memory of Emma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Emma Serquiña Buenaventura was born on May 3, 1950. She is the third oldest child of 11 siblings to Serapio and Mary Serquiña. She married Jimmy Buenaventura and was blessed with 3 children Joan, Joel, and Jefferson. Mom spent her whole life providing the utmost care for her family as she decided to leave the Philippines and come to New York, to work as a Registered Nurse to bring forth a better tomorrow for us. On early Wednesday, October 26, 2022, Emma, a beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother passed away at the age of 72 after fighting cancer for almost 4yrs. She remained steadfast despite her condition. She was our ultimate comfort, our guide, and our inspiration for us to be brave and turn life into growth and positive opportunities. Alongside dad, she never stopped caring and serving, not just us, but also God. She would utter words of prayer and show gestures of faith until she lost her last strength. Gardening is what she is being passionate about. She likes growing flowers and vegetables. To put more sense into planting, she initiated a tree planting project where she and dad set out fruit-bearing trees in the backyard for each grandchild in the family. She is the most incredible mother, grandmother, and human being. She always cared and prayed for others in times of need. Our family will always have her in our hearts. Our Family will always cherish her memories and love. Your Loving Son, Jefferson Buenaventura
