When I was a kid, growing up in Lynbrook, there was a group of older teens that pretty much looked after us on our blocks Spencer Ave and Stella Court. We often drove them crazy, but we had the most fascinating admiration for all of them. They were the essence of "cool". One of them was a great guy name Robert Diantonio that had a heart of gold. I only remember him doing things for others, and always smiling, and saying "hey guy!". One year he sang "Raindrops Are Falling On My Head" with his brother, playing guitar, at my friend Charlie A's birthday party. I think that was the first live gig that I ever saw in my life, and it was so amazing. Later on in life, he put windows in for my mom, and he just did everything to help everyone. I sadly learned that he passed away yesterday, and I want to remember him with this song, especially because it was the first time that I ever heard it. May you live FOREVER in God's kingdom, Rob. Say hello to my folks and Mr. Conticelli...
