Basile Jr., Bart Frank, 75, of Preston Hollow, NY, Formerly of Rockville Centre, NY passed January 28th 2023. Cherished son of the late Bart and Dorothy Basile. He is survived by his loving wife Helen ‘Ginger’ Basile, (Nee Fogerty), his cherished children Marie Yostpille, Bart Basile and Sarah Basile and his adored granddaughter Evelyn Yostpille, Bart served in the US Army during the Vietnam War achieving the rank of Sargent and earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals, and a Purple Heart from being injured during combat near Chu Lai. Bart ‘The Eggman’ worked a wide variety of trades but spent the majority of his career with the US Postal Service as a draftsman in Manhattan. His love of cars and motorcycles was legendary, as he embodied the endearing term ‘gearhead’ with aplomb. He also loved baseball and softball, camping, dancing, terrible tv shows, Rusty Nails, the great outdoors and had impeccable taste in music. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Bart Basile is finally at peace. Services will be held this Wednesday February 1st, 3 – 7 PM, at Perry Funeral Home, 118 Union Ave, Lynbrook, NY 11563. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation to be made in his name to Disabled American Veterans, 162 Atlantic Ave, Lynbrook, NY 11563 (dav.org)
