Obituary of Philip Cuiffo

Please share a memory of Philip to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Philip Cuiffo - dedicated husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend - passed away at home in Rosedale, NY on Monday, April 17, 2023. Philip was born the youngest of seven children to Philip and Adele (Deperino) Cuiffo in Brooklyn, NY on September 14, 1939. He worked in the dairy industry for several years before transitioning into maintenance services in Manhattan, NY. As a young child Philip and his family moved to Rosedale, NY. He met his wife, Geraldeane (Krause) Cuiffo, while attending grade school at P.S. 138 where they both attended school. They married on May 19, 1962 surrounded by friends and family. In 1976, Philip and Geraldeane adopted their first children, Wayne and Marietta. A year later, they welcomed Deana and Dennis into their family. He worked hard to make sure they were taken care of and felt loved every day. In 1980, Philip and Geraldeane welcomed another son, Todd into their family. Over the next several years many additions would be made to their loving family. Leanne, Carrie, Randy, Chung, and Rachael would make the Cuiffo family grow with love. Philip served in the Army National Guard in Jamaica, Queens where he trained and did many drill exercises. As a member of The Evangeical Lutheran Church of Christ for many years, Philip was that fun loving guy who gave the kids rides on the floor-buffing machine and was a great Youth Group advisor! Philip had a love for his dogs. He had many dogs over the course of his life. He always wanted a pack of his own. He used to take Lucky and Coco for long walks around the neighborhood in Rosedale. They would sit on the front porch and watch all the passing action in the neighborhood. In recent times, he would sit on the couch with Baby and take naps or watch his favorite television programs. Philip would also enjoy taking trips to the Catskills, NY to relax, take vacations with family and friends, make repairs and hunt the land, which made him happiest to do. Fishing the Delaware River in Narrowsburg, NY also brought great pleasure to Philip. The one thing that would never bring him joy would be the sight of any type of snake, which once in a while would make an appearance. But, Philip greatly enjoyed being in the Catskills of New York. Being a grandpa made him very proud and happy. Paul, Kimberly, Jasmine, Darius, Alyssa, Xavier, Logan, Aaliyah, Sevyn, Tesla, George, Trinity, and Avery brought much joy to Philip. Having such a large family was most enjoyable to Philip. Having many son-in-laws, Ahmad, Chris, Shaun, and Mark, and daughter-in-laws, Alexa and Marissa brought him enjoyment to have and welcome into their family. He is survived by his wife, Geraldeane Cuiffo, his children Wayne Cuiffo (1965-2013), Marietta Cuiffo-Moradi (Ahmad Moradi), Deana Cuiffo (Chris Szymt), Dennis Cuiffo, Todd Cuiffo, Leanne Cuiffo (Mark Aubrey), Carrie Lanier (Shaun Lanier), Randy Cuiffo (Marissa Cuiffo), Chung Cuiffo (Alexa Cuiffo), and Rachael Cuiffo.
