Obituary of Indu Mati Soin

Born July 7, 1943, as ‘Inder Mohini Khanna’, she was the sole daughter of the late Kamlavati and Tirath Ram Khanna. Indu was a bright, beautiful, and empathic daughter and sister. During her academic years, she excelled in her studies, debate team, and track and field events in her native country, India. She graduated from Sarojini Naidu Medical College, and trained as an OBGYN. Indu valued scholarship, genuine caring, and the goodness in people. After marriage and immigrating to the US, Indumati Soin was a devoted wife and caring mother. She embodied a quiet fortitude as she struggled with lifelong challenges. She was sensitive, witty, supportive, and compassionate to those around her. Her legacy will live on in her four children and three grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband, Satyapal Soin, and their four children, Rachna (Rachel), Sapna, Sonia, Sandeep (Sandy), and three grandchildren, Suvali, Kira, and Linden. In addition, she is survived by her older and younger brothers, Jag Mohan Khanna and Inder Mohan Khanna. Indu passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 29, 2024, at the age of 80 years. May her caring and kind soul rest in eternal peace.
