Obituary of George Mario Nuzzolo

George (Giorgio) Mario Nuzzolo: May 14, 1928 to March 13, 2024 On March 13, 2024, the Nuzzolo Family lost its patriarch. He was the last surviving member of 13 siblings, and left behind his wife of 67 years, 6 children, 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Relatives to the 5th generation are too many to count, but George loved everyone of them and considered himself blessed to have them in his family. He was a true family man and it was his great pleasure to see his family thrive through the blessings of the Lord and enjoy beautiful relationships with one another. In a recent conversation about his family, George re-expressed his gratitude and encouraged those around him to "Thank Jesus every day!" Of all the wonderful qualities that made up Giorgio Mario Nuzzolo, he was known for his faith and his music. George was in active ministry for close to 60 years. He loved preaching the Gospel and easily brought the Lord up in everyday conversation. His intense study of scripture enabled him to encourage people in every situation. George pastored in Springfield Gardens, Oceanside and later on he started a new work in East Rockaway. A big part of his ministry was his music. Raised in a musical family, George picked up the accordion at 17 and quickly mastered the instrument. Family and parishioners alike will fondly remember him for songs like, "Through it All," "I Asked the Lord," and original compositions such as "At the Sound of His Name." Those close to George know that he is enjoying that "Meeting in the Air" even now.
