Obituary of Alice C. Dillon

Alice C. Dillon (née Sheehan) Alice C. Dillon, 97, passed on to eternal life on July 9, 2024. Greeting her in heaven will be her husband Jack and the "Notre Dame gang," lifelong friends she so dearly enjoyed and longed to see again. Alice was a woman of many interests and talents. She was a gifted painter and an avid reader. Known for her social nature, Alice could enter any gathering and feel completely at home, whether she was with old friends or meeting new people for the first time. Her true joy in life was a lively party, creating lifelong memories with those she loved. Alice is predeceased by her husband, John C. Dillon; her parents, Anne and George Sheehan; and her sister, Ann Sheehan. Born in Queens and raised in Floral Park, Alice spent her entire adult life on Sachem Street in East Rockaway. She was an active member of St. Raymond's Church, a long-time member of the Sodality, and a dedicated volunteer with the Cancer Society. Alice leaves behind her five children: Marianne Spencer of Concord, MA; Kathleen Read (Joe) of Shelter Island, NY; Eileen Kepler (Greg) of Manchester, VT; John Dillon and George Dillon, both of East Rockaway, NY. Alice is also survived by her niece, Ellen Holmes of Putney, VT; her grandchildren, Caitlin Fabe (Daniel), Annie Laurie Titus (William), Harry Spencer, Daniel Spencer, Henry Read, Charlie Kepler (Kate), Jacqueline O’Brien (Dan), and Caroline Kepler; grandniece Hayley Ryan (John Russell). And six great-grandchildren. Alice's life was a testament to the joy of social connections and the beauty of lasting friendships. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
