Donna Marie O'Brien, aged 67, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5th, 2024. A dedicated labor and delivery nurse at Northwell Health for 35 years, Donna brought countless new lives into the world with unparalleled compassion and grace. Her gentle hands and calming presence provided comfort to mothers in their most vulnerable moments, and her unwavering dedication ensured that each newborn was welcomed with the utmost care and love. Donna's ability to soothe fears and instill confidence in new parents was a testament to her profound empathy and skill. She was a devoted wife and is survived by her loving husband, Robert James O’Brien, who provided her with comfort and care throughout her life. Donna was a loving mother to Abby O'Brien-Scarchilli and Christian Furler O'Brien, a supportive mother-in-law to Michael Scarchilli and Robert Furler O'Brien, and a cherished grandmother to Dominic John Scarchilli and Natalie Rose Scarchilli. Donna's nurturing spirit and steadfast dedication to her family and profession touched the lives of many. Her legacy of love, care, and kindness will forever inspire those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Donna bravely fought frontotemporal dementia, a condition that we still do not know much about.
