Obituary of Maria Theresa Huber

Maria Theresa Huber, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024 at North Shore Hospital in Manhasset, NY. Born to Katharina Arens on November 19, 1946 in Trier, Germany, Maria was a young, fun-loving woman who would go above and beyond for anyone. Married to Anthony Calabrese in 1964, together they had two wonderful daughters, Judy (Steven Cibants) and Gina (Frank Orosz). She was then married to Arthur Huber, where they lived in Rosedale, NY and then moved to their dream location of North Myrtle Beach together. Summers in SC was a time that she always looked forward to because she knew her beautiful granddaughter, Jasmine, would come stay for a few weeks. Maria was a seamstress by trade and was always mending someone’s clothes. She then worked as a housekeeper at various hotels in SC until moving back up to NY to be closer to family in 2018. Maria’s green thumb produced gardens filled with an array of colorful flowers that she was always proud of. St. Maartin was her favorite vacation destination, where she loved to travel to with her girls. Despite her small stature, she was a tough cookie and was strong-willed till the end. The loss of Maria is deeply felt by all who knew her; however, the memories of her will always be treasured by those who were fortunate to know her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory.
