She is also survived by her two sisters Connie McDougal and Maureen Brennan and her two brothers, Gerry and Brendan Keenan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eileen is predeceased by her brother Robert Keenan. She was a lifelong resident of Lynbrook, Long Island. She attended St. Raymonds Elementary School and Lynbrook High School. Eileen started her career after graduating from Hofstra University where she played basketball. She was a Middle School Math teacher for one year before she left to raise her 5 children. She did many jobs to help with family expenses including newspaper delivery, Bingo food sales at the Church and working at the family owned Arcy Paint. She returned to work full time as an Administrative Assistant ultimately retiring from SUNY Farmingdale. Eileen was dedicated to her Catholic faith, family and community. She was an active member of the Elks Doe Club, Our Lady of Peace parish including as an eucharistic minister, and a member of the Lynbrook Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Larry and Eileen raised their children in Lynbrook, New York and spent summers in North Sea Beach Colony, Southampton, New York. Eileen loved to travel to new places with Larry, her family and good friends. Any trip with her girlfriends (amigos), which often included a casino, was often a fun filled adventure. Grandma Lola was extremely thoughtful always ensuring she gave the perfect birthday and Christmas gifts. Any form of chocolate made Eileen extremely happy and she was the queen of naps.
