Joseph J. Calabrese Sr. of Franklin Square, New York, passed away on October 11,
2024, at the age of 95. Joe was the son of the late Fortunata and John. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Lenore. Joe is Survived by his three sons, John, Edward and Joseph Jr., his three daughter-in-laws,
Charlene, Jean and Kathy, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and brother Edwin.
Joe founded and operated Everbest Bakery in Valley Stream, NY with his family for 53
years. Everbest Bakery was well known and considered one of the best bakeries on Long Island
and is still remembered fondly today by so many.
Joe, a veteran of the Korean War, made friends with everyone he met, inviting them to
his home or apple farm in upstate NY for a drink and cooking a homemade dinner for them,
which was his passion, along with baking. He will be remembered by all as a very generous and
giving person by his many friends and family.
