Obituary of Sondra Lee Grawin
Please share a memory of Sondra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sondra Lee Grawin was born in Meadowbrook Hospital in East Meadow on March 22, 1948 to Peter and Lillie Irene Shuppe. She was the second born of 5 siblings. She attended public schools in Freeport, NY.
In 1978, she met Raymond, the love of her life. They were married for 46 years. She loved her job at Franklin Early Childhood Center for over 35 years but it was her cabana at Silver Point Beach Club, since the early 80s, that brought her the most joy. On any given day you'd find her enjoying her breeze when it was "Africa hot" outside. She was quite particular with whom she shared that breeze with as she reserved it for expectant mothers and babies.
Her license plate read "SUNLUVR" and it was on every car she'd ever owned.
Sandy was exceptionally talented and creative and she produced delicious and beautifully decorated birthday cakes for her daughters Lisa (Peter), Rachael (Brian) and Kimberly (Travis). And who could resist her cookies!
She loved her plants, as well, and to say she had a green thumb is an understatement.
Sandy loved her seven (7) grandchildren:
Alexa Rae, Christopher, Benjamin, Taylor, Avery, Mason, and Landon.
Another understatement is that she'll be sorely missed.
