Obituary of Joseph Paul San Phillipo

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joseph Paul San Phillipo, better known as “Joe Fish” was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 5, 1953 to Joseph and Beatrice San Phillipo. He was one of four boys. Growing up in Howard Beach, Queens, he loved spending time with his brothers, going in their pool and crabbing in the canal in their backyard. He worked for Coca Cola, TWA, courier services and then became a part of Local Union 638, where he worked in HVAC for many years. He met the love of his life, Laurie, in Long Beach, where they lived for a short time, before getting married in 1987 and then moving to Valley Stream. In 1991, they gave birth to their daughter Callie, and 2 years later, in 1993, had their son Nicholas. As a family, they spent their summers on the boat and at their cabana at Silver Point Beach Club. In the winters, Joe enjoyed taking his kids skiing and to their many sports and activities, where he was their biggest cheerleader. Joe Fish lived for fishing, it was his pride and joy, along with his boat, and he did it exceptionally well. He taught his son how to fish, and it is something that Nick continues to do in honor of his father. He also enjoyed doing things around the house, always in an effort to make the best life that he could for his family. On October 24, 2024, heaven gained another angel. Rest in Paradise Joe, we love you.
