Please share a memory of Adele to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Adele G. Marchese
10/18/38 – 11/24/24
On November 25, 2024, Adele Marchese at the age of 86 passed away peacefully. Beloved wife of 60 years, to the late Anthony (Tony) Marchese. Devoted Mother of Aileen Persich, Andrea Braccia, Alison Carpentier (Richie), Alysse Marchese-Esposito and the late Anthony Marchese. Loving Daughter of the late John Gallager and Anna (Sheenan) Gallager, Adored Sister of Eileen Ansbro, the late Mary (Peter) Kimlingen, Gerard (Ruthie) Gallagher, Patricia (Frank) Vanderneut, Kathleen (Mike) Guarascio and Sister In-Law to Angela (Manny) Garitta and late Josephine & Frank Lombardo. Cherished Grandmother of Nicole, A.J., Antonia, Taylor, Alyssa, Vincent, Salvatore, Gabriella, Domenique, Anthony and Alexa. Precious Aunt to 22 nieces and nephews, 33 great nieces and nephews and 13 great, great nieces and nephews. She was a surrogate mother to countless others.
Adele had a diversified background. She began her career with the FBI. Once she gave birth, she became a stay-at-home mother in order to raise her five children. She later returned to college at night (while raising her children) and obtained her undergraduate degree at SUNY Old Westbury. Following her graduation, she returned to the workforce and held with various positions of increasing responsibility in the Corporate Insurance industry. She switched careers working for and reporting to the Nassau County District Attorney. Adele finished her career working many years in the rewarding Education Field at a local primary school.
To know Adele Marchese was to love her. She had too many friends to count and each always had a kind word to share. Many of her children’s friends often referred to her as their second mother. Adele and her husband always welcomed (with open arms and food) all that entered her home with or without and invitation. She and her late husband had a lust for life, rarely sitting still. They loved to dance the Lindy, and people were in awe watching their talent. Her children and grandchildren affectionally referred to her as the Dancing Queen. Her heart was a wide as the Grand Canyon and always put others before herself. Her cooking was second to none and she enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren with their favorite meals. She was fun, loving, generous, kind and selfless. She was proud of her Irish heritage, and had so many shamrocks displayed throughout her homes that her grandchildren lost count when attempting to determine the number. They often joked that she should consider displaying a few Italian items to balance out her husband’s heritage.
Her smile was beautiful as were her piercing blue sapphire eyes and we are sure that her husband could not wait to see both again.
Adele will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
