I am lucky enough to call a legend who is the world’s best breakfast maker, and barbecuer, my grandpa. You will forever be one of my greatest inspirations, and motivations. I know you are looking down on me right now, and I hope I am making you proud of everything I have, and will continue to achieve. You have always been by my side no matter what listening to all my rants and giving me the best advice, while also telling me your experiences. You have made me the person I am today, and will forever be grateful that I had such an amazing person by my side. I will make it my mission to continue on and make you proud. One of my favorite memories was our traditional summer barbecues. Rain or shine, you were outside doing your thing, and making our food delicious as usual. Secondly, I will always remember when I was little, and we read to each other, and build Lego sets. I also loved our yearly Florida visits to you and grandma, and going to all our Florida spots like Gumbo Limbo, getting our traditional Pei Wei, and Dairy Queens, and newly added Rocco’s Tacos. Last Christmas was my first Christmas driving, and I remember you handing me the triple A card, and you said “You get one now like mom and your sister”. Another one of my favorite memories was when I was cold visiting you in the hospital, and you asked the nurse for a blanket saying you were cold, but gave me the blanket so I wouldn’t be anymore. Even in your hardest times, you were still putting others first. You are one of the most selfless people I have ever, and probably will ever meet, and I am grateful to call you my grandpa. I don’t know how I got so lucky. I still can’t, and don’t think I will ever be able to put into words how much I love, and miss you, but I know you will be by my side every step of the way. I love you so much grandpa. Until we meet again ♥️

Some of my best memories of grandpa were when he would BBQ outside even in the rain. We would set up the big umbrella and give him a raincoat. He was always determined, and nothing was ever soggy; he would even share some burger or cheese with Mr Kitti. If grandpa had his mind on something, it would get done. My second best memory was him teaching me how to pump gas before he gave me his FID mobile to drive while he was in Florida. I sent him updates on everywhere we went, like ocean parkway after its car wash. Later he told me it didn’t have airbags, but I survived, and he shrugged and laughed. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke you either learned something or laughed. Nothing ever really phased grandpa, birds would be flying around and cawing, and he would just be sitting reading his paper. For my college photography final, he took me to the fire department so I could take pictures while it was calm. I have the utmost respect for fire fighters because they throw on heavy gear in such a short amount of time. Finally, I will miss getting our annual blizzard from Dairy Queen when I visit Del Ray. Even after a nice dinner, there is always room for ice cream.
