One day when Isabela was maybe 3 years old, she was stood near the bottom stair at her grandparents' home on 240 North Cottage being difficult about something which we've all long since forgotten. What I won't forget is the response her grandfather Giorgio had that day.
He knelt down in front of her so that they were eye level and he said,
"Isabela, Grandpa is your best friend"
Isabela stopped her strike/tantrum and nodded her head quietly.
Then he stood up and put out his hand. She placed her tiny little hand in his and they went out the door together.
