Chuck and I played together on the Slickstickers probably 20 years ago, and more recently talked through FB. He was a gentleman, and a terrific human being and it is such a shame to hear he has passed on. Definitely a fiery competitor, but also kind, intelligent, and fun to be around. May Chuck rest in peace. I didn't know him as well as many of you, but from the interactions I did have with him it was obvious that he was a good man and of high moral character. When I first heard of this terrible tragedy...I was quiet with shock and could think only of his family who he so adored. My deepest condolences to all of you. I'm very sick to hear this. I never really got a chance to speak to Chuck until this past Fall season, but we hit it off, and it was immediately clear to me that he was a special kind of person. I really regret not getting to know him better or perhaps play on the same team with him. I am extremely sorry for him and his family. I don't know what to say. This is one of the worst things ever, really. God help his family.

Getting this news today has given me a pit in my stomach. It seems so surreal that this has happened. It was only last Thursday I was texting back and forth with Chuck. Having had the privilege of playing with him, I can say that Chuck was a well respected and fierce competitor ... a great all around guy and an even better team mate. I would like to thank him for always believing in me even when there were times I didn't believe in myself. I heard the harrowing news about Chuck Barillari from Daragh. When I heard, it was numbing to me. I admit, I didn't know him as well as most of you, but I can honestly say that we were all fortunate to know him however well we did. May his spirit find his way to the Lord, our God; may he find eternal peace in his passing. To all of us, he was a friend; a son; a husband; a father; a brother. Chuck was always a fierce competitor and gained the respect of everyone in the stickball league. Stickball was one of his passions and he will be remembered as one of our best champions. He led his teams in multiple decades, winning many championships and big games, with some heroics he always liked to talk about. We all will surely miss him and he will be remembered by all that played with or against him. May God bless his soul in heaven where he is playing stickball again, and bless his loving family.
