92 years old. A Patriarch of a family and a worldwide organization. Beloved husband of Josephine Distefano for 65 years, the world's best father to Jane and Joseph, a devoted grandfather to Andrew and Sienna Puleo and David Angelo and Eugene Rivera. Loving Brother to Josephine, Andrew, Nellie, Edythe, Rose and Pearl Puleo. A mentor to many, a friend to all. Born Feb. 10, 1919 to Giuseppe and Mattia Puleo in Brooklyn, New York. A child of Sicilian immigrants. Graduated Williamsburg H.S. in Feb. 1936 at the height of the depression. 1941-1942 Accepted into the US Coast Guard Maritime Service School at Gallup's Island, Boston, MA. Only 2 students per state were accepted. WWII 1942 to 1945 Served in the US Merchant Marines as a Lieutenant radio officer aboard Liberty Ships . Received medal for war effort. A graduate of Hofstra University, B.S. Electrical Engineering. 1968 Started Puleo Electronics, a manufacturer of alarm monitoring and reporting equipment for industrial markets, Puleo products are sold worldwide. Designed an innovative product that became a standard in industry and was copied by many large companies. Rosario Puleo was a force that spread caring love, and kindness wherever he went. His spirit will never die.
