I first met Tony in 1968 at the Teenage Mr. America contest in Philadelphia. He was with a number of New York bodybuilders (i.e. Dennis Tinnerino, Chris Dickerson, Richie Pandolfo, Joe Distinti). He was very friendly and introduced me to many New York bodybuilders over the years. I competed against him many times and I always found him to be a true gentleman who was always surrounded by friends. Tony had a great sense of humor and always smiled when he talked about family. He was always enthusiastic about bodybuilding, his family and friends. It was a pleasure to be around him in the 1960's and 1970's. He was always prepared for physique competition. I always saw him compete at his best. He was one of the good guys in our sport. I will always have wonderful memories of him. Bob Gallucci

The 1st time I competed against Tony I placed higher then him, but that was the only time that would happen. In the years that followed we became great friends. He always would jokingly remind me of that time, and we would have a good laugh about it. Today I went to my trophy case and pulled out one from 1977 which states 'Mr. Passaic-Clifton 2nd place'. That is because Tony took 1st place. I recall him telling me that night that I was in the best shape he ever saw me in. Life is so strange in that I never would have dreamed back then in 1977 I would be sharing this story today. It has been my good fortune to have Tony as a friend. I will never forget him and I miss him dearly. Mike Romagnola
